How it works, in three steps

Answer, choose from three, go.

Other sites hand you nine hundred rooms and call it choice. We ask what you actually need, then put three stays in front of you. You pick one of the three. That is the whole idea, and it is why nobody leaves here with twelve tabs open and no booking.

What it costs you

Free to use. Always.

You pay the property, not us The quiz, the three places and the plan cost you nothing. You book the stay and the money goes where it was always going.
We take a small fee from the booking When you book through us, the property pays us a small commission out of what you were paying anyway. That is the whole business model, and now you know it.
Nothing is nudged for money The three places are the three that fit your answers. Nobody pays to be in them, and we do not sort by what earns us most.
Step 1First, you take our quiz

The trip you would have picked yourself

Eight questions, give or take. None of them ask about star ratings. They ask how much company you want, how far you are willing to go, and what you would like the place to feel like when you close the door behind you.

What is your budget a night?

Under an hour One to two hours Two to four I do not mind
Step 2Then we give you three places

Three places. Pick one of them.

Each one comes with the reason it is here, in plain words. Quiet and anonymous. Big open lounges. Nobody will ask if you are waiting for someone. You read three, you choose one, you are done. Budget is a slider rather than a tier, and good solo trips start at seventy-five pounds a night.

Step 3And your plan writes itself

The plan builds as you go

Choose a stay and the days lay themselves out. Add a walk, a gallery, a table for one. Take any of it out again. It is your plan, and it stays yours.

Nothing is booked until you say so. Change your mind as often as you like.

The eight types

Most people are a blend.

The quiz gives you a lead type and the split behind it, because wanting to disappear on Friday and wanting a harbour walk on Saturday are not a contradiction. You are asked what you want this trip, not who you are.

Real trips

Three people. Three completely different weeks.

Same eight questions, same three-option promise. One went off-grid for a hundred and fifty pounds, one ate dinner with strangers every night, one crossed the country in three stops. There is a version of this for whatever you are after.

The question everyone starts with

Where should I solo travel?

It is the wrong question, which is why it is so hard to answer. Nobody can tell you where to go until they know what you want the trip to do for you. Rest, or a change of scene, or company, or something to come back having done.

So we ask that first. The solo travel quiz works out what you are actually after, then finds three UK places that fit it, from a bothy in the Brecon Beacons to a spa townhouse in Bath. Two minutes, no account, no email.

Answer it properly
